Hollywood star and Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds has responded to comments from Coventry City boss Mark Robins about the Welsh club’s fans.
The Red Dragons travelled to the CBS Arena in force, with close to 4,500 packing out the away end and getting right behind Phil Parkinson’s National League high flyers who raced into a 2-0 lead inside the first 18 minutes of the FA Cup third round tie.
Wrexham ran out 4-3 winners to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup, after which the Sky Blues boss pointed to Wrexham’s incredible supporters, saying: “They’ve brought 4,000 fans with them and that’s the noisiest I’ve ever heard this stadium.”

Taking to Twitter after the match, Deadpool star Reynolds, who co-owns the club with fellow actor Rob McElhenney, said he was speechless and reiterated his commitment to the club he bought in February 2021. They have since produced a behind-the-scenes Netflix series following the club, and Coventry could be set to feature in series two.
“I’m completely and totally speechless. What a club. What a town. What a win. Wrexham AFC forever,” he said on social media.
And later responding to Robins’ comments about the fans, he tweeted: “The travelling @Wrexham_AFC supporters are the big beating heart of this win.”
Wrexham’s reward for their win is a fourth round tie with City’s fellow Championship side Sheffield United at the Racecourse Ground rather than a glamorous tie against a top Premier League team.
