Bollywood caught between hits and flops as moviegoers rate ‘experience’, story higher than stars – Economic Times

Companies manufacturing cars, smartphones, televisions, refrigerators and washing machines are ramping up festive season production by up to 50% compared with the corresponding period a year ago, anticipating robust sales and buoyed consumer sentiment in the next three-four months.
The International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) has been facilitating a higher volume of trade between India and Russia via Iran over the last three months amid the West’s sanctions on Moscow following the Ukraine war.
The combined share of private players—Reliance-BP, Shell and Rosneft-backed Nayara Energy—has shrunk by 50-80% in the fuel retail market year-on-year and even the taxes imposed in July on exports or the official mandate to sell more in the domestic market hasn’t helped.
